Conference Session #1 - Chamber Chat: Chambers in Nunavut – Regional Roles & Collaboration

Capacity, Collaboration, and Commerce. what these 3 concepts mean from a chamber perspective. Learning more about the roles of chambers and how they help build business capacity, understand the needs of the business community and find ways to collaborate and contribute to economic development opportunities - among other roles that chambers can play.

Conference Session #4 - Nunavut's non-profit and charitable sectors as economic drivers 

This session provides an opportunity to hear about now Nunavut non-profits contribute to the economy at local and territorial levels. This sector provides employment and contributes to social and economic health and well being and is often working silently or behind the scenes. This sector plays a key capacity building role and the speakers will discuss what more visibility and collaboration between non-profits, charities and the business community could look like. Moderated by Jen Hayward of Outcrop, representatives from Qajuqturvik, NANPO, Annauma Community Foundation and Ilitaqsiniq will contribute to the panel.

Conference Session #5 - Labour Market and Training

Nunavut faces unique labour market challenges and opportunities shaped by geography, demographics, and rapid economic development. This panel brings together leaders from industry, education, government, and Inuit organizations to explore how we can build local capacity, strengthen collaboration, and drive sustainable commerce through targeted training and workforce development. Panelists will share the current labour market gaps and emerging skill needs in Nunavut, highlight successful training and workforce development initiatives, discuss partnerships that strengthen local capacity and promote Inuit employment and community-led workforce solutions. Presenters will share examples of projects and funding models that focus on increasing Inuit employment. Moderated by Jason Kilabuk from Canadian North, we will hear from the Minister of Family Services, Kakivak, Natik and the NorthWest Company.
